An extremely refined Barolo from a single site in an important Cru vineyard. This former star of our range is now back with us, the Del Gris is from a steep site in the Ginestra Cru which faces south-south east on soils of sand and some silty clay. Fermentated in steel, this relatively elegant expression integrates a harmonious oak influence during aging. A highly in-demand and boutique offering from Conterno Fantino, this is a delicious Barolo to decant soon or cellar.

Its Origins

Azienda Agricola Conterno Fantino was established in 1982 by Guido Fantino and Claudio Conterno. The state-of-the art winery is located on top of a hill overlooking the old village of Montforte d'Alba, enjoying an extraordinary view stretching out around the arc of Alps. Conterno Fantino's range comprises a Barolo DOCG from Sori Ginestra, and several DOC wines from Langhe, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d' Alba and a mono-varietal wine (Chardonnay). The style of their Barolo is modern, showing rich aromas and flavours, lush, soft texture and well-rounded tannins.
