Grüner Veltliner

Grüner Veltliner is Austria’s answer to White Burgundy. A versatile food wine, Grüner offers body and complexity with restrained fruit and...exotic X factor. Its lineage is the noble Traminer - that ancient, mutable parent of diverse grapes like Chenin Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Grüner resembles the best of both distant siblings - fresh acidity/minerality like Chenin, yet rich texture and aromatics like Gewurz (though in Grüner these are more restrained). Grüner’s subtle characters of pear, citrus, dill and white pepper are best captured in stainless steel, with only top examples benefitting from oak.
