Pearls of Piedmont
Or should we say Piemonte, qualitatively outstanding and highly distinctive wine region in north-west Italy. Nebbiolo is this region's answer to Burgundy. Nebbiolo ripens slowly in this cool climate and so develops impressive depth and complexity. Dry and usually full bodied, we recommend drinking Nebbiolo sitting down…preferably in front of some richly carniverous dish. Let's not forget the often over-looked silky, focussed Barbera's and the wonderful white wines of Arneis, Nascetta and the delicious sparkling- Moscato D'Asti,
