A new and more elegant Barolo from one of Fantino's wonderful vineyard acquisitions, where some vines up to almost fifty years old. The Castelletto vineyard is in Monforte d"Alba, although a greater proportion of sand and silt in this south-east facing slope allows the Pressenda to offer a powerful expression that tends a little more toward the fine-boned and feminine. An outstanding and distinctive wine, the Pressenda is a unique Barolo for early to mid-aged drinking.

Its Origins

Azienda Agricola Conterno Fantino was established in 1982 by Guido Fantino and Claudio Conterno. The state-of-the art winery is located on top of a hill overlooking the old village of Montforte d'Alba, enjoying an extraordinary view stretching out around the arc of Alps. Conterno Fantino's range comprises a Barolo DOCG from Sori Ginestra, and several DOC wines from Langhe, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d' Alba and a mono-varietal wine (Chardonnay). The style of their Barolo is modern, showing rich aromas and flavours, lush, soft texture and well-rounded tannins.
