2016 Coppi Don Antonio Primitivo (Zinfandel)
During 40 years of wine making and research into the wines of Puglia, Cantina Coppi is closely linked with promotion and enhancement of this southern Italian region. The family concentrates on native vines with special characteristics, a precious heritage of resources to preserve. According to the family philosophy, making a good wine means following an unbridled passion, and every day brings a rediscovered love for their own land.
What The Critics Say
Due Bicchieri (Two Glasses) Gambero Rosso Magazine
"Purplish red, intense and brilliant. Intense, persistent, fine, ripe red fruit, a clean perfume from which there is the spice from the oak barrels and the grapes themselves. Warm and yet greatly soft and harmonious, in which the tannin is effectively controlled, the acidity supports and is especially fresh and fragrant for its wonderful scent mole, savory, fairly full-bodied, very intense and persistent. Match with great traditional Italian dishes such as lasagne, risotto with saffron Gualtiero Marchesi style, roasted turkey, Canadian cheddar cheese soup. -- It is the result of an experiment that winemaker and Senator, Antonio Michele Coppi, founder of the Coppi winery dynasty, wanted to carry out with his most precious grapes. The result is immediately stunning for the richness of the fruity flavour that the wine delivers when in the glass, warm as well as extremely soft and balanced."
