What The Critics Say
95/100 and "Outstanding" Cameron Douglas MS
"Intense, plush, fruity, spicy and varietal. Aromas of green pear and quince, ripe apple and white rose, a stony mineral layer and sweet scented seductive perfume. On the palate - just dry with a tease of sugar, but mostly a core of ripe white fruits, youthful, crisp and refreshing acid line and a core of flavour. Texture is important with Gris and this wine does not disappoint with fine fruit tannins chalky mouthfeel accentuated with acidity and gently warming alcohol nd contrasted with a core of fruit flavours to reflect the bouquet. Balanced, well made, youthful yet also ready and a dry finish. Best drinking from today and through 2026+."
94/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"Pristine and elegantly fragrant, the bouquet shows white flesh nectarine, green pear, jasmine and subtle spice aromas, leading to a richly textured palate that's juicy and fleshy. Beautifully expressed with delectable fruit flavours, offering terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2028. $30.00. www.mishasvineyard.com. March 2021.”
18.5/20 Raymond Chan Reviews, Candice Chow
"Bright, pale straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is gentle and fragrant, nuances of pear, peach and honey entwined with white floral and a little spice dusting. Medium-full bodied, dry-ish to taste, succulent aroma of pear, peach, and baked apple has a good core, honey, and subtle spice adorn by white floral. The palate is slightly unctuous with a fine-textured powdery phenolic line. Acidity is lively, provide balance and freshness to the underlined alcohol power. This is a succulent Pinot Gris with classic flavours of pear, honey and floral with delicate spices, brightened by refreshing acidity and fine-texture. Match with pork and prawn dumplings and simple Asian fare over the next 4 years. Whole bunch pressed, free-run juice racked and cool-fermented in stainless steel, and pressings portion was fermented slightly warmer in older French hogshead barrels (23% of the blend) with indigenous yeast. 14% alc, 5 g/l RS. 18.5/20 (93 pts) Mar 2021 RRP $30."
