2021 Fritz Haag Kestener Paulinshofberg Riesling GG (Dry)
Grape
Riesling
Its Origins
The Haag family has been in wine for just a little while - since 1605, to be precise - and over that time they have been instrumental in the development of Brauneberger, an area that has been recognised as one of the Mosel’s best since the sixth century. At the helm today is the youthful Oliver Haag, whose father Wilhelm (son of Fritz) became recognised as a Riesling world leader, awarded the deceptively simple title of Winegrower of the Year in 1994. Oliver himself has at his back a full oenological training as well as extensive experience with a number of leading Riesling producers. With results so superb they effectively define a modern classic style of Mosel Riesling, it seems clear that the Haag family’s future in wine may be as sure as it’s past.
What The Critics Say
94/100 James Suckling
“Full and ripe for a 2021 Mosel GG with plenty of yellow fruit and berry aromas wrapped around the dark earthy core. Plenty of power, but still lithe and sprightly at the long spice and wild herb finish. Excellent aging potential. Drink or hold.”

"Delicate and dancing herbal nuances of chamomile and citrus beauty leap across the nose and palate, fine smoky reduction. Breathtakingly crisp. Definitely Mosel, definitely cool; the minerality grabs on and refuses to let go. Apple blossom and apple skin, with earthy-spicy hints of thyme and sage. Poised and polished on the finish with just a dark hint of something exotic. Not for now, but worth the wait. (PS)." Drink 2025 - 2032
