"Henriot is a Champagne house for insiders – it does fly under the radar but produces exquisite Champagnes. For over 210 years the Henriot family has symbolised an innovative approach and has remained independent. This chardonnay dominant Champagne house incorporates an exceptionally high proportion of Premiers and Grands Crus in its cuvées, which come from the best Chardonnay parcels. Producing only 1.3 million bottles a year, this family owned house features a long-aging style and a focus on Chardonnay. Says 8th generation managing director, Thomas Henriot: "I do not like wines that go in strange directions. I like to know where we are and where we are going. Henriot selected the wines for Henriot Rosé Millésimé 2012 blend in the heart of the southern Montagne de Reims in Aÿ, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Avenay-Val-d’Or and Mutigny. Among these wines, there is a particular one from a parcel in Aÿ, that is vinified as red wine (obtained by maceration of the skins, the pulp and the juice of Pinot Noir) and it represents 10% of the blend. Dosage 7g/L. "Confit lemon holds notes of fresh strawberry on the nose. The palate is taut, slender, chiselled and precise with exuberant citrus. A grown-up rosé with a beautiful structure that will allows this to evolve. "

"Offering up attractive aromas of blood orange, red berries, peach, orchard fruit and brioche, Henriot's just-released 2012 Brut Rosé Millésimé is medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with fine concentration, ripe but racy acids, a delicate mousse and a long, saline finish.
