Its Origins
Presently releasing some wines under the B.Wine label, Lime Hill Vineyard is a leading producer in Wairarapa. "Raphael and Christine Burki are Wairarapa's newest wine label and cellar door B. wine creators and owners. The Swiss-born Kiwi couple travels back and forth between New Zealand and Switzerland for vintages each year, rich with insight from both the new and old world, expressing a personal perspective of Martinborough and the Wairarapa... The wines are small in production, only available at their Martinborough cellar door, a handful of fine wine establishments and online, so make sure you pop in their cellar door if you are near. Opens Thursday to Monday 11-4 pm, address 45 Kitchener Street, Martinborough 5711." Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
What The Critics Say
94/100 Bob Campbell MW
"Moderately intense chardonnay with an appealingly oyster shell/saline influence. Mouth puckeringly dry. Good food wine (think freshly shucked oysters) with taut acidity 09 FEB 2024." Drink 2024 - 2030
93/100 Cameron Douglas MS
"Classic, modern and expressive bouquet with the underpinning mineral softness that Martinborough white wines can carry so well. Aromas of yellow flowers and white fleshed stone fruits, a mix of grapefruit and apple then spices and complexities derived from older barrels. A satin-cream texture touches the palate first followed by flavours of citrus and spice, peach and apple. Well made, youthful with a decent acid line, warm and generous. The wine will be best enjoyed from mid to late 2024 through 2029."
