2009 Mountford Estate Waipara Chardonnay

2011 Greywacke Marlborough Chardonnay

2013 Ashwood Single Vineyard Gisborne Chardonnay

Because we have shifted so much Ashwood wine we have been offered the same deal as the previous vintage so jump onto this- its a steal. This has a RRP of $36. Hand picked from a vineyard on the 'Golden Slopes' this is the chardonnay we crave to buy- good old fashioned Gisborne chardonnay but with real sophistication. Ashwood is the top-flight wine label of Murray MacPhail, third-generation Gisborne farmer who under his ‘Leaderbrand’ company is the region’s largest land user, horticultural supplier and grape-grower. Murray has had the two of the region’s top winemakers, Steve Voysey and Nick Nobilo make his Chardonnay and Pinot Gris respectively. The bouquet is elegantly concentrated and packed with citrus fruits, melon and toasty oak. Softly concentrated it has a core of yellow stonefruits and nutty flavours enlivened by lacy acidity and complimented by classy oak. This is an elegant but bold, complex-flavoured Chardonnay that we crave to offer- so grab it.

2014 Boneline Waipara Sauvignon Blanc

Grown alongside the Riesling vines in Hellblock, sharing the searing summer heat and cold Autumn nights. This is a very lively block with spring fed gravels allowing vine roots to express their unfettered character. Handpicked, destemmed, and given extended skin contact. Clear juice cool fermented in tank with selected yeast strains in order to extract its riotous nature. Riper fruit left on lees for the Winter which adds nuances of yoghurt, linseed and fruit. Faithful punchy passionfruit, nettle, gooseberry and boxtree sit on top of richer tropical & citrus fruit notes. Palate dry and balanced — classic savvy. Mid palate has lovely surge of flavour. Profound depth that can only come from old vines on a great site.

2013 Boneline Waipara Sharkstone Charonnay

We love the texture of this old vine chardonnay- it has real power and presence. Drawn from the oldest multi-clone, small berry vines on their property. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed with full solids to 20% new French oak, where it was fermented, matured, put through partial malolactic and rested on lees for 12 months. Citrus laced fruits, subtle toasty oak, lemon oil and freshly toasted baguette. Classic flinty notes lifted by yeast lees derived complexity. Beguiling balance between lemony freshness, biscuit yeast, and deeper stone fruit flavours. "This smooth new Chardonnay is big on flavours of citrus (lemon, grapefruit and ripe orange) and beautifully balanced by fresh acidity and a medium body; every sip lingers and it’s so tasty that it practically begs for a roast chicken to eat alongside it." Joelle Thomson DrinksBiz Magazine

2013 La Cana

Latest note is the 2011 "Aromas of white peaches, lychee nuts and spring flowers jump from the glass of this 100% old vine Albarino. The 2011 La Cana, from a relatively new winery founded in 2008, is medium-bodied, elegant and slightly restrained for an Albarino (which are usually flamboyant and aromatic). Fermented in both stainless steel and large format French oak, this dry white exhibits excellent texture as well as length. Drink it over the next year."Parker

2014 Starborough Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Starborough was a major supplier to some of Marlborough's top labels- now they save the best fruit for their own label. Normally $22. Gold and Trophy for 'Best Sauvignon' at the Bragato Wine Awards, Pure Gold at the Air NZ Wine Awards and 5 stars Raymond Chan who writes "Few boutique producers have the ability to blend fruit from different vineyard sites to maximise the character of their wines, as usually the fruit comes from one site. The Jones family have 110 ha over two sites, the ‘O’Dwyer’s Farm’ vineyard In the Rapaura region of the Wairau Valley, and their ‘Starborough Terrace’ resource in the Awatere Valley. The nose is soft, delicate and poised with pristine gooseberry and white floral aromas with detailed cut grass and nettle detail and thirst-quenching minerally nuances. This is aromatically pure and refined in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, subtly concentrated flavours of white stonefruits, gooseberries, herbs and limes are immediately accessible and show with a mouthwatering succulence. The acidity is fine and lacy, providing cut and liveliness, poise with tension. This is a refined and elegant Sauvignon Blanc with pure fruit and a beautifully poised, refeshing mouthfeel.18.5/20 Oct 2014 RRP $22.00."

2013 Domaine L'Hortus Grand Cuvee Blanc

"One of the leading estates in the Pic Saint Loup region, Domaine de l'Hortus (translates to "The Garden") covers roughly 55 acres and is run by Jean Orliac, who's considered the founding father of this up-and-coming region. This is a serious white that has remarkable purity and class, while not skimping on texture or flavor. The 2013 is a gorgeous effort that tastes like a high-end California Chardonnay, a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Viognier, with the Chardonnay aged eight months on lees in barrel, and the Viognier seeing only tank. It offers up beautiful notes of pineapple, citrus blossom, honeysuckle and white flower nuances, all of which are framed nicely by serious flinty minerality that comes through more on the palate. Possessing rocking purity, full-bodied richness and a clean, classy style, enjoy bottles over the coming 2-3 years."94/100 Parker

2013 Astrolabe Sleepers Vineyard Albarino

2013 Domaine Janasse Cotes du Rhone Blanc

The crisp, dry 2013 Cotes du Rhone Blanc (50% Grenache Blanc and the rest Clairette, Bourboulenc and Viognier) exhibits a sumptuous perfume, wonderful purity and lots of personality. “What this family operation has achieved over the last decade is nothing short of remarkable considering the breadth of wines made, from their Vin de Pays, which are among the finest made in France, to their world-class Cotes du Rhones and Chateauneuf du Papes…This impeccably run estate, in the capable hands of Christophe Sabon, his sister Isabelle, and their father, is one of the superstars of the southern Rhone Valley. Over the last 12-15 years, the quality of the wines has gone from strength to strength, with brilliant wines being produced in all price categories" R.Parker
