2011 Jadot Meursault "Perrieres"

"While this shares some aromatic elements of the Genevrières this is notably more floral and displays added breadth in the form of citrus zest, mineral reduction and pain grillé. There is excellent volume and very fine detail to the intensely stony medium-bodied flavors that deliver impressive depth "90-92 Burghound "Bright, light yellow. Classic Perrieres nose combines lemon, orange blossom, minerals and wet stone. Round, ripe and broad, displaying lovely intensity and inner-mouth perfume to its mineral-rich flavors of citrus fruits, white flowers, vanilla and toasted bread. Harmonious and very long. A superb showing"92 Tanzer

2011 Jadot Chassagne Montrachet "Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle

One of the more intensely mineral Chassagnes in the range, the Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Clos De La Chapellet is drop-dead gorgeous. Flint, smoke, graphite, tangerine and almond notes all blossom in a Chassagne that is at once powerful yet refined. The flavors are vivid and totally nuanced in this impeccable Morgeot from Jadot. 94 points Antonio Galloni. "Bright lemon-yellow. Complex aromas of citrus peel, pear, minerals and anise. Juicy, brisk and penetrating, with lovely inner-mouth floral character to the delineated fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes with very good sneaky length and a firm citrus spine that calls for four or five years of cellaring. Pungent and backward for this bottling. "92 Tanzer

2012 Ferret Pouilly Fuisse Chardonnay

This has quickly become a staff favourite because it has a real texture and richness to it- and it offers great value for good white burgundy"I could see that precision that Audrey says is at the core of her work. These are beautiful white Burgundies: ultra fresh and delicate, yet with substance and power. Her vineyard material is superb, with an average age of 35 years but parcels of 60-year-old vines too, and the new winery allows the detail that she is seeking. Some pear-droppy ferment aromas at first, but swirling reveals a lovely nuttiness and Cox's Pippin fruit, very clean and fresh. On the palate the oak is much more dominant, a lovely juicy orange and lime citrus acidity and purity to the fruit wins out though, in a mouth-filling and structured wine, but one with finesse. 2014 Cloudy Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

The 2014 Sauvignon Blanc is a definitive expression of the region and its season. Appealing concentration and poise suggests a wine with the ability to age. The nose is bright with aromas of kaffir lime and grapefruit. A generous palate reveals ripe citrus, stone fruit and lemongrass flavours balanced by crunchy acidity. Perhaps the hallmark of this vintage is its persistent finish rich with minerality.

$31.99

2013 Riverby Cicada Marlborough Gewurztraminer

A superb buy for a quality gewtz. from a producer that always over delivers. 95/100 from Bob Campbell in Gourment Traveller Magazine writing " Made by Riverby using grower grapes. A lush, medium- dry style with pronounced varietal rose petal, potpourri, anise and cinnamon flavours. It is a lovely wine showing good concentration and balance."

$19.99

2013 Millton Clos St Anne ‘La Bas’ Chenin Blanc

“From a section of the vineyard 'down there' ( La Bas ), the 2013 vintage was grown in Millton's Clos de Ste Anne hillside vineyard at Manutuke, in Gisborne. 19/20 from Raymond Chan " 19/20 from Raymond Chan writing-" The nose is very elegant, tightly bound and refined in expression, with restrained aromas of white and yellow florals and stonefruits, along with nuances of pineapple, unveiling waxy mineral, wet stone and nutty detail. The aromatics grow in presence and depth with aeration. Bone-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the intensity and depth of fruit confers an elegance of proportion. Tightly concentrated flavours of white and yellow stonefruits are subtly lifted by floral and honeysuckle notes and mineral suggestions. The palate features a fine-grained phenolic core of fruit extract, enlivened and driven by bright, lacy acidity. Some alcoholic power underlines the fruit which carries to a richly detailed, long lingering, dry finish. This is a fresh, elegantly concentrated, powerfully driven dry Chenin Blanc with stonefruit and mineral flavours. Serve with seafood and white meat dishes over the next 10 years. Indigenous yeast fermented aged 9 months in seasoned 600 L demi-muids on lees, without batonnage or MLF. 19.0/20.

$69.99

2013 Black Barn Barrel Fermented Chardonnay

We love this bigger styled, robust chardonnay and the 2013 is a class act. Grown on the Havelock North hills, hand-picked and barrel-fermented, this is typically a classy wine, in a classic regional style. The 2013 vintage (4.5*) is weighty and rich, with concentrated, ripe stone-fruit flavours, buttery, mealy and toasty notes adding complexity, and a rounded finish." M.Cooper

$29.99

2013 Babich Irongate Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay

Elsewhere this retails at $37. Babich's flagship Chardonnay. A stylish wine, Irongate was traditionally markedly leaner and tighter than other top Hawke’s Bay Chardonnays, while performing well in the cellar, but the latest releases have more drink-young appeal. It is based on hand-picked fruit from the shingly Irongate Vineyard in Gimblett Road, fully barrel-fermented (about 20 per cent new), and lees-matured for up to 10 months. Malolactic fermentation was rare up to the 2002, but has since exerted a growing influence." M.Cooper

$29.99

2010 Bouchard Puligny Montrachet Champ Canet

One of the great Puligny vineyards next door to Meursault Perrières. "Good pale yellow. Very ripe, Meursault-like aromas of stone fruits, vanilla, acacia flower and white truflfle. Silky, concentrated and fresh, with lovely lift for its volume and fullness. The sweet stone fruit flavors carry through to a very long, rather powerful finish". 91/100 S.Tanzer

$120.00

2010 Bouchard Meursault Genevrieres

In olden days, the vineyards of this great Meursault must have been surrounded by junipers (genévriers) whose name has lived on. This prestigious appellation was classed as a "Tête de cuvée" as early as 1855. "Bright, pale yellow. Lemon, spices and smoky minerality on the nose. Silky on entry, then expands to fill the mouth with rich yet brisk flavors of lemon, dusty stone and vanillin oak. Good acidity gives the wine excellent cut but there's nothing austere about this very nicely balanced premier cru. The captivating rising finish shows a lightly smoky quality and noteworthy finesse." 92/100 S.Tanzer
