White Wine

2012 Tardieu Laurent Condrieu ( Viognier )

Wine due mid March- book now "An outstanding wine as well, the 2012 Condrieu offers up brilliant perfume of marmalade jam, apricot, flowers and distinct minerality as well as a medium to full-bodied, rich and layered profile on the palate. Supple, textured and yet with excellent acidity, it’s a classic effort to drink over the coming couple of years." 91/100 Parker "Greenish yellow. Spicy pear and peach pit on the nose, with suave vanilla, mineral and floral qualities adding complexity. Smooth and seamless on the palate, offering intense orchard and pit fruit fruit flavors and a dusty mineral nuance. Firm, focused and pure on the back end, finishing with excellent clarity and stony cut." 92/100 Tanzer

2012 Astrolabe Wrekin Vineyard Chenin Blanc

Astrolabe's second chenin blanc release. "The Wrekin Vineyard Chenin Blanc reveals ripe apple, warm pear and allspice notes with nuances of honeyed peach and jasmine. Medium-bodied, it drinks very crisp and dry, with good fruit concentration and a silky texture that persists through the long, layered finish. This impressive Chenin Blanc should cellar to 2015+."

2010 Man O War Valkyrie Waiheke Island Viognier

2011 D'Arche(sauterne)

The Chateau d’Arche has a seductive bouquet that opens teasingly with each swirl of the glass, with pure aromas of honey, quince and a tang of marmalade. The palate has a vibrant, racy opening with superb acidity that has more energy than it knows what to do with! It is threaded through with pure citrus fruits complemented by apricot and white peach that leads to a defined the crisp, focused, tensile finish. This is an impressive Chateau d’Arche. Drink 2015-2030.92-94 Parker

2011 Bouchard Meursault 1er Cru 'Perrieres'

" Pale bright yellow. Perfumed aromas of lemon peel and acacia flower. Chewy, saline and savory, with harmonious acidity (4.1 grams per liter) and underlying minerality accentuating the flavors of lemon, lime and truffle. With its strong mineral component and inner-mouth aromatic character, this almost tastes like it's from another vintage."91-93 Tanzer "The wood treatment is all but invisible and easily allows the ultra-pure and elegant nose of mineral reduction, green apple, white flowers and citrus aromas to shine. There is a terrific sense of underlying tension with laser-like focus to the medium-bodied and intensely mineral-driven flavors"92 Burghound

2012 Riverby Eliza Riesling

The only riesling to win a Gold Medal at all three of the top NZ Wine Shows and 93/100 by Bob Campell- a remarkable achievement to have such consistent outstanding results. "Moderately sweet Riesling with good intensity and purity. Mineral, citrus/lime and floral characters with a lovely interplay between sweetness and taut acidity. Delicious wine that promises to get even more interesting with bottle age." Bob Campbell

2011 D'Yquem

(en primeur price all up final landed cost due in mid 2014) The 2011 has a clear silvery gold hue, perhaps not quite as deep as I recall the 2010 last year. The bouquet is very fragrant and well‐defined, with scents of wild honey, honeysuckle and a touch of vanilla. It is a refined, sedate and beautifully focused bouquet that does not need to show off. The palate displays superb weight in the mouth, even though at first it seems almost understated. Yet there is clearly a high level of spicy, botrytized fruit with notes of honey, orange zest and a touch of mandarin. There is no explosion on the finish; the 2011 is rather a lesson in control, complexity and nuance. It is utterly seductive. Drink 2016‐2040+.score 96-98 Neal Martin – The en primeur sample of Château d'Yquem Sauternes 2011 is also presented at Cheval-Blanc. Its usual classic blend of 80/20 Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc captures the beautiful cut and freshness of the vintage, with blazing pineapple, white peach, yellow apple and melon flavors that are remarkably light on their feet. Blanched ginger root, cherry blossom and light citrus notes dance through the finish. The wine is already showing terrific range and purity in a very, very stylish frame. It should give the stunning 2001 and authoritative '09 a run for their money. Score 96-99. James Molesworth – The Wine Spectactor

2009 Craggy Range Les Beaux Cailloux Jerobam ( 3 ltr )

2014 Babich Cowslip Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

What a deal on this great sauvignon that we have brought every year and our customers love. Normal retail is over $25. 94/100 from Wine Orbit writing "A powerful rendition packed with passionfruit, nectarine and musk notes with subtle herbaceous lift on the nose. It’s rich, rounded and textured with superb fruit intensity, finishing beautifully long and delicious. At its best: now to 2018. $25.00."

2014 Amisfield Central Otago Pinot Gris

Normally $30 and a wine we never get a deal on so we jumped at this one. "The 2014 vintage (4*) was estate-grown and hand-picked at Pisa, in the Cromwell Basin, and mostly fermented and lees-aged in tanks; 30 per cent of the blend was fermented with indigenous yeasts in large, seasoned French oak barrels. Fragrant and full-bodied, it is well-rounded, with strong, ripe stonefruit flavours, hints of spices and oak, gentle sweetness (11.5 grams/litre residual sugar), and lots of drink-young appeal." M.Cooper
