2014 Ata Rangi Lismore Martinborough Pinot Gris


2012 Durvillea Marlborough Pinot Gris

This is Astrolabe's baby sister and is an absolute steal for the quality. Immediately attractive on the nose with gorgeously ripe peach, pear and floral characters. The palate is juicy, pure and lively with a fine minerality and delicacy of structure. The tasty flavours lingers on and on.


2012 Guigal St Joseph lieu-dit Blanc

Normal RRP $95. "one thrilling white, the 2012 Saint Joseph Lieu-Dit Blanc, which comes from the vineyard that gave the appellation its name, is a smoking blend of 93% Marsanne and 7% Roussanne that’s brought up all in new oak barrels. Rich, textured and full-bodied, it oozes notions of caramelized peaches, toast, cream and brioche. It’s knockout stuff and should drink nicely for over a decade (although I’d drink it over the coming couple of years). 92 Parker " Bright yellow. Fresh peach, lemon pith, smoky oak and honeysuckle on the highly perfumed nose, with an iodine nuance building in the glass. Firm and youthfully taut, in a distinctly steely style but showing seriously concentrated pit and orchard fruit character. Finishes spicy, stony and very long, with excellent clarity and resonating minerality."92 Tanzer


2013 Mission Estate Vineyard Selection Hawkes Bay Chardonnay

Normal RRP IS $21 - a superb price now after we brought a volume of this wine. We try a lot of chardonnay that we want to sell at $15 and most are dreadful but this one hit the flavour requirement. For Vineyard Selection, they take only the “free run” juice and whole bunch pressed juice from hand harvested fruit. This was then barrel fermented in French oak, with 30% new barrels, and aged on lees 12 months. "The colour is pale straw and the nose has complex peach, marzipan and stone fruit aromas with some toasty notes. On the palate, spice and stonefruit flavours come through on the creamy finish. The efforts they put into lees stirring show through in a rich, soft and silky mouth-feel." Brilliant buying.


2013 Amisfield Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc


2014 Sea Level Nelson Pinot Gris

Last of this wine at this special price. Trophy for Champion Pinot Gris at the Air NZ Wine Awards. Normal RRP $20. Also Gold at the International Aromatic Competition and Gold at the NZIWS.Amazing results for a gris at this price. It is technically dry at 6gms residual sugar with a juicy soft texture- a style enjoyed by most.


2013 Man O War Valhalla Waiheke Island Chardonnay

Rated as Waiheke’s finest vintage to date, the 2013 vintage delivered fruit of exceptional quality. Hand harvested and either gently foot stomped before pressing or whole bunch pressed directly to barrel for an un-inoculated ‘wild’ fermentation in 500 litre acacia or oak puncheons. "The 2013 Valhalla Chardonnay is typical of their style; bold flavours and aromas with complex savoury notes introducing tropical fruits, stone fruit, and hazelnut with toasty/smokey barrel characters. The palate is all about elegance and discreet power with a rich texture framed by vibrant acidity, oak and bold fruit."


2012 Stanley Estates Awatere Valley Pinot Gris

Made by the ex winemaker at Cloudy Bay. Gold Medal at the Air NZ Wine Awards. "Weighty wine with a smooth texture and a drying finish thanks to acidity rather than tannins. Attractive Naschi pear and herb flavours with plenty of nutty lees characters." ( 20% Barrel fermented with wild yeasts to give palate weight and complexity. ) Set up seven years ago this is their third release under their own label. They currently own 18 ha of land with 2 ha dedicated to the Spanish grape variety Albarino. Excellent top flight pinot gris


2010 Bouchard Corton Charlemagne

" green fruit, white flower, stone and green apple aromas. The textured, intense and admirably pure flavors reflect perfectly the intense minerality of the appellation while finishing with a balanced, persistent, powerful and bone dry finale. As young Corton-Charlemagne can often be, this evidences a borderline chewy quality as there is so much extract. While I would expect this to arrive at its apogee at around 10 years of age, this is built to last for several decades. Once again, if you're tempted to try this young, do decant it for 30 to 60 minutes first" 94/100 Burghound “Highly nuanced nose combines apple, fl ower blossom, crushed stone, white truffl e and menthol, with a saline seashell quality emerging with air.. Broad and large-scaled but without any impression of weight. An infant today: this is likely to be bottled last, according to Prost.” 92/100 - Stephen Tanzer “Very embryonic. He recommends this with salty cheese such as Beaufort or Comté. The best vintage they have in their cellars is 1958! There is indeed some saltiness in this wine. Racy. Very good Corton- Charlemagne. Racy and dense and juicy. Lots of energy here. Much livelier than many Cortoncharlemagnes. Impressive! Still chewy but with real energy.” 18/20 - Jancis Robinson


2013 Bouchard Macon- Lugny Saint-Pierre ( Chardonnay )

Now a stunning price for a white burgundy ( chardonnay ) because we bought a volume of this wine. Bouchard Pere & Fils is one of burgundys top Producers which is crucial when buying value burgundy. The Macon is the generic appellation for red, white and rose wines from the Maconnais sub-region of southern Burgundy. A number of communes within the appellation's area have been recognized as sources of higher-quality wines and may append their names to 'Macon' on their labels. The best-known of these is probably Macon Lugny. While all of these communes may use their names on white wine labels, only two-thirds of them produce red and rose wines of sufficient quality to earn this privilege. "Beautifully fresh and vibrant with barely of sniff of oak this wine has that lovely minerally thread running through it with notes of apple and lemon/ lime on the nose. Classic white bugundy that is only slightly fatter than Chablis.
