2014 Coopers Creek 'The Limeworks' Hawkes Bay Chardonnay

Last of the 2014. Normally this retails elsewhere at $22 from the sensational 2014 vintage. Always a favourite because of its big style and so well priced. The 'Limeworks' vineyard is strewn with limestone and in fact sits next to a limeworks ( hence the name for this wine )."Golden in colour with toasty aromas and flavours, this is a full, rich, creamy wine with juicy grilled freshly picked Golden Queen peaches, a soft buttery mouthfeel, a fresh acid spine and lashings of spicy oak and salted caramel. 2014 des Aubuisieres Vouvray Silex

We were only given a very small allocation of this stunning vouvray this year so enjoy it while it lasts. "For some time now, Berhard Fouquet has been moving the quality of his distinctive, largely stainless steel-rendered Vouvrays into the exalted echelon of Foreau and Huet, which is to say challenging any of the world's finest practitioners of white wine, and at an absolutely unbeatable price:quality ratio. The 2012 has lychee, yellow cherry, Mirabelle, quince, and narcissus on the nose leading to a musky, subtly oily, chalk-inflected, honeyed, yet incisively zesty palate. This combines richness and palpably high extract with cut and invigoration in a way that only Chenin ( and then only in the Central Loire ) can. Its 6 grams of residual sugar perfectly set off the yellow fruits and hint of honey in this wine's long finish. This formidably-concentrated yet elegant wine is worth following for at least half a dozen years." Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.


2013 Dr Loosen Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett

Blazing red and insanely steep, the Ürziger Würzgarten (ERTS-ih-ger VERTS-gar-ten) vineyard in Germanys famous Mosel region, fills the picturesque amphitheater formed by this dramatic bend in the river. Although it’s directly adjacent to the vineyards of Erden, it produces a completely different kind of wine, with exotic, spicy aromas and a mesmerizing earthiness. No other vineyard on the Mosel produces wines so bursting with tropical fruit flavors. The estate’s oldest vines are found here. "So, so restrained - but intriguing fruit purity. 2012 Highfield Marlborough Chardonnay

Normally $33. . Limited production, defined styles and rigorous de-classification ensures the making of consistently high quality wines. "Typically a classy wine. The 2012 (4*), barrel-fermented and lees-aged, is full-bodied, with strong grapefruit and peach flavours, slightly limey and buttery, and savoury, nutty notes adding complexity. Drink mid-2014+." 2014 Forrest Estate "The Doctors' Riesling

Trophy for Champion Riesling at the Air NZ Wine Awards. Low-alcohol style (9.0 per cent) is like biting into a fresh Granny Smith apple. Reminiscent of a Mosel, with fresh, tight lemon/lime flavours, showing good intensity and vivacity, and a medium-sweet, appetisingly crisp finish. Drink now or cellar.


2013 Highfield Marlborough Riesling

Gold at the Air NZ Wine Awards. "This is a consistently rewarding wine, priced sharply. The 2013 is already delicious, with plenty of youthful impact. Light-bodied (10 per cent alcohol), it has strong, fresh, citrusy, slightly limey flavours, a hint of passionfruit, and a distinct splash of sweetness (39 grams/litre residual sugar) balanced by mouth-watering acidity.


2013 Highfield Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Normally $25. One of the best consistent under the radar sauvignons on the market. Fruit is sourced from a mixture of vineyards located in the Wairau, Omaka and Brancott valleys. 95/100 from Bob Campbell in Gourmet Wine Traveller writing "Very attractive white with pink grapefruit, gooseberry, tropical fruit and red capsicum. The wine has good concentration and is long and linear with a pleasing texture. A small percentage was fermented in oak barrels."


2013 Blackenbrook Nelson Chardonnay

RRP $24. Made by the ex chief winemaker of Seifreids who made legendry chardonnay and he has carried on this tradition now with his own winery. Blackenbrook wines have burst on the scene in Nelson. This is an excellently priced, quality chardonnay. "A seductively supple and luscious wine with elegant butterscotch, bran biscuit and toasted nut flavours adding complexity to citrus fruit and pineapple characters." Great value well made chardonnay


2013 Tony Bish Fat n Sassy Hawkes Bay Chardonnay

From the man at the helm of the Sacred Hill Wines. Tony has now started his own label and he will be producing only chardonnay. We have a great price on it as well as the normal RRP is $25. 5 Stars "A delectably plush chardonnay, the beautifully lifted bouquet shows yellow peach, rockmelon, brioche, cedar and vanilla aromas, leading to a powerful palate that's richly flavoured and beautifully textured. The wine offers loads of delicious flavours, perfectly structured by integrated acidity. At its best: now to 2017." Sam Kim- Wine Orbit Magazine. It has 100% Mendoza clone, barrel fermentation and lees stirring.


2013 Herzog Marlborough Pinot Gris
