Owned by the Symington family who own such famous port houses as Grahams and Dows they now produce the Altano reds from vines in located away from the river Douro in the Douro Superior. Its warmer, drier and flatter terrain with low-yielding, schistous soils. The vines wre planted in the late 1970s and early 1980s so they have old vine age material to draw from. A blend of Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
"a lush and creamy style, with concentrated flavours of raspberry tart, dark cherry and boysenberry, accented by notes of chocolate. The silky finish lingers with a rich, mocha detail."
