What The Critics Say
93/100 Vinous, Ian D'Agata (2017 vintage)
"Golden-tinged straw color. Pure, fresh aromas of pear, apple, citrus skin and anise. Juicy, spicy and precise, with brisk flavors of pear, peach, lime and herbs. Quite sappy and delicious in the mouth with vibrant acidity nicely extending the rich flavors on the long back end. Finishes with lovely cut and length and a late hint of candied sweetness. This was part barrel-fermented, part stainless steel-fermented. This wine was once called Frascati Superiore Riserva but the estate found they were unable to ask higher prices for it given the poor reputation of the Frascati Riserva monicker, so it was decided to release it as a Lazio Bianco. It’s a blend of Malvasia del Lazio (80%) and Bombino Bianco (20%) made from certified organic grapes that ages six months in twice and thrice used small oak barrels."
