Xmas Rose Special Six Pack — Magnums of Bertrand Cotes des Roses 1500ml
Grape
Mainly Grenache with Syrah and Cinsault
Its Origins
Wine Enthusiast named his winery Europe’s best in 2011, but Gerard Bertrand began as a rugby player for France and Narbonne. It wasn’t until the early death of his father that he returned to take the reigns of the family operation, Domaine de Villemajou in Boutenac, Corbieres. He soon identified the potential of the Languedoc-Roussillon to produce rich yet bright, modern wines suited to world market trends and from there began acquiring labels and properties across the region. Balancing an organic and increasingly biodynamic viticulture with an evangelical zeal for exporting his Mediterranean ‘Art de Vivre’, Gerard Bertrand has quickly become one of the most important champions of that which epitomises Southern French wine of today: superb quality in quantity.
What The Critics Say
90/100 Wine Enthusiast, Jacy Topps
"This wine is energetic, with intense acidity. The palate offers fresh ripe citrus and pear with floral notes. Its mouthfeel is light with a saline finish."
89/100 and Top Buy for the Summer in Decanter, Amy Wislocki
"Hailing from the Languedoc as opposed to pricier Provence, this blend of mainly Grenache with Syrah and a dash of Cinsault is dry, fresh and fruit-forward. Pale in the glass, it has aromas and flavours of white flowers, strawberry and watermelon, livened by grapefruit citrus notes. A breezy, fresh, Mediterranean style, in a striking bottle (a rose motif is moulded into the bottom, echoing the name)." Drink 2023 - 2024
