What The Critics Say
95/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"It's fabulously fruited and perfumed on the nose showing sweet cherry, toasted almond, subtle spice, olive and floral aromas. The palate displays excellent concentration and persistency backed by silky texture and fine grainy tannins, finishing wonderfully long and seductive. This is gorgeously composed and expressed. At its best: now to 2028. $48.00. www.wooingtree.co.nz. July 2020." Drink 2020 - 2028
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS (2017 vintage)
"Really lovely bouquet with aromas of wild flowers and red cherries, wild dried thyme and a sandy, gravel soil. Judicious oak use with a French vanilla and toasty spice notes. On the palate - youthful, tense, dry and loaded with textures from fruit to oak tannins, medium+ acidity and complex, lengthy finish. A wine destined for your cellar (if you can show some love for that) and let it integrate more please. Best drinking should be from 2021 through 2025. In the meantime - decant for service and serve with Canterbury lamb roast to medium-rare."
