Two Hands Wines was founded in early 1999 by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz. The original aim shared by Michael and Richard was to make the best possible Shiraz-based wines from prized Shiraz growing regions throughout Australia. Their intention was, and still is, to showcase the diversity of Australian Shiraz by highlighting regional characteristics and allowing the fruit to be the primary feature of the wines. Two Hands refers to the very personable approach taken with each parcel of grapes, no matter how big or small. The wines are carefully guided through the viticulture and winemaking process by Michael Twelftree.
What The Critics Say
93/100 Halliday's Wine Companion, Ned Goodwin (2017 vintage)
"Textbook McLaren Vale shiraz. A morass of blue to dark fruit references are curtailed by a righteous dollop of American oak, a perfect curtailer of the warmth and on-edge excess of these warmer climatic expressions. A skein of pepper to clove-soused acidity perks up the rear."
92/100 Toni Patterson (2017 vintage)
"Dark plum and blackberry aromatics. The palate is bright and intense with satsuma plum, rhubarb and lemon flavours. There is a faint thread of crushed herb which adds interest and complexity. An interesting, food-friendly wine. Excellent depth."
