"Elegantly proportioned with deeply packed and dense aromas of dark-red berry fruit and dark plums entwined with dark herbs and spicy notes, unfolding a little primary confectionary perfume and lift. Medium-full bodied, the palate is sweet and juicy with plush, but stylishly restrained flavours of ripe, dark-red berry fruit with dark plum notes, unfolding dark herbs and spices with a little jam. The palate is smooth with fine-grained tannin in support lending some structure and grip. The acidity is balanced and the wine carries with energy to a sweet, plush, lingering finish. Match with roasted and barbecued red meats over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit, clones Abel, 5, 6, 667, 777 and 115, predominantly from the ‘Clark’ and ‘Gibbston Back Road’ vineyards in Gibbston with a small portion from Queensberry, fully destemmed but not crushed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in tank and French oak barriques. 1,500 cases made. 18.0+/20 Nov 2018 RRP $25.00"
