Its Origins
Robert Lloyd has more than two decades of winemaking experience working at a handful of California’s most well-known chardonnay and pinot noir producers. He first cut his teeth working both in the cellar and in the tasting room at Cakebread, before moving over to Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and then finally earning his Masters of Enology at UC-Davis in 1999. Following graduation, he accepted the esteemed winemaker position at La Crema before leaving for Rombauer in 2001. At Rombauer, he worked his way up from Assistant to Head Winemaker before leaving in 2008 to embark on his own winemaking journey under a private label….Lloyd Cellars.
