A gorgeously dry but plump Tempranillo Rose from Elephant Hill. Lovely ripe fruit from this delicious Spanish red grape was gently whole bunch pressed and cool-fermented to produce a wine of both delicacy and presence on the palate, with a nice medium weight of crisp red fruit wrapping around a long and salivating freshness. This is a popular wine made in small quantity -- don't wait!.

Its Origins

Reydan and Roger Weiss first fell in love with the beauty of Te Awanga when visiting from Germany in 2001. Together they envisaged owning a state-of-the-art winery, merging the traditional values of wine making with an innovative approach and contemporary style to produce exceptional wines to savour and enjoy. With the majestic elephant as their namesake and nestled against a backdrop of rolling hillsides, Elephant Hill spans over 25 hectares of vineyards producing classical, aromatics whites and world-class reds, helmed by winemaker Steve Skinner.
