Te Kairanga is one of Martinborough’s founding vineyards established over 20 years ago. In keeping with the pioneering spirit surrounding the vineyard, a number of Te Kairanga wines have hailed from Martinborough’s history and that of its inhabitants dating back to 1879. The John Martin Reserve Pinot Noir, known and loved by many, is notably named after the founding father of Martinborough – John Martin himself. Likewise the Pinot Runholder is aptly named as a tribute to the runholders of the land back in time.
What The Critics Say
91/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"This is elegantly expressed on the nose showing white stone fruit, grapefruit and oatmeal characters with hints of vanilla and savoury notes. The palate is rounded and beautifully weighted, and offers creamy mouthfeel and delicate fruit intensity, finishing long and silky. Lovely poise and balance, and should evolve gracefully. At its best: now to 2020. $25.00. www.tkwine.co.nz. Aug 2017." Drink 2018 - 2020

"Soft, creamy chardonnay with white peach and subtle bready lees flavours. Gentle barrel fermented wine with very little oak influence. An easy-drinking chardonnay in a 'crowd pleasing' style. 30/3/2017." Drink 2017 - 2020
