Pirinoa Road is a collaboration between long time Martinborough vigneron Peter Croft & the team at Antipodean Sommelier. The wine takes its name from the Pirinoa district, home of an old Maori pā-site in South Wairarapa. The 2008 vintage saw the début of the Pirinoa Road in the UK market, and since then this boutique wine has built a reputation with its loyal followers across Australasia and Europe for delivering classical Martinborough characteristics combined with consistent quality and value.
What The Critics Say
93/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"It's spicy and savoury on the nose with sweet fruit nuances, showing dark cherry, dried plum, thyme, anise and toasted spice aromas on the nose, leading to a beautifully weighted palate that's supple and lingering. It's complex and soothing with excellent complexity, elegantly framed by plenty of polished tannins. At its best: now to 2022. $35.00. March 2020." Drink 2020 - 2022
90/100 Bob Campbell MW (2015 vintage)
"Bright, supple, high energy pinot noir with dark cherry, violet and supple savoury and fresh herb flavours supported by fine, peppery tannins. An elegant wine that's approachable now. 09 MAR 2018" Drink 2018 - 2022
