Established in 1886 Angove Family Winemakers is one of Australia's oldest family owned wine making companies, dedicated to providing exceptional quality, enjoyable wines from only the finest vineyards in South Australia. The first Angove family vineyards were established by Dr William Angove in the early 1900s in the northern Adelaide suburbs of St Agnes, Modbury and Tee Tree Gully. For many years this region was home to some of South Australia's best and most highly regarded vineyards and wineries. Celebrating the company's 125th birthday and 100 years of winemaking at Renmark, South Australia in 2011, Angove is renowned as one of Australia's largest privately owned wine companies with its continued success drawing on the pioneering spirit of Dr Angove over 100 years ago.
What The Critics Say
5 Stars & Number 2 wine, Cuisine Australian Shiraz Tasting, June 2018
The lifted freshness and perfume of this wine give it a pinot-esque quality. Juicy red and blue fruit flavours are packaged in a well-organised structure. The tannins are a little firm but will integrate with time. It’s by no means a blockbuster, but a style with a lot of prettiness atop a serious undercarriage.
94/100 and 5 Stars wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"This magnificent shiraz shows glorious aromas of blackberry, cherry pie, vanilla, mixed spice, cocoa and cedar on the nose, followed by a powerfully expressed palate that displays excellent fruit purity and concentration, wonderfully framed by silky tannins. The wine is superbly ripe and delectable with a persistent, delicious finish." Drink 2017 - 2026
90/100 Decanter World Wine Awards, 2018
"Lush aromas, chocolate, vanilla, blackcurrant and cedar, cherry hints. Lovely textured palate, chewy tannins, supple black fruits, white pepper finish."
