65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah
For the last 15 years, oenologist Xavier Vignon has become internationally known for being the winemaker of several of the best domaines in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Rhone, such as Le Nerthe, Marcoux and Grand Veneur. In 2002 some friends (who are wine importers) asked him if he can create his own wine. Choosing amongst the best wines he has made, he creates Rhône wines of different vintages and appellations. His ideal wine is easy to understand, modern, powerful and great value for money. Before settling up in Rhône Valley, Xavier worked as a winemaker in Alsace, Champagne (Moët & Chandon), Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Burgundy and Languedoc-Roussillon.
What The Critics Say
91-913+/100 Parker's Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck
"The ruby/purple-tinged 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape (65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah, aged in one- to three-year-old barrels) offers lots of blueberry, blackberry, plum, peppery herbs and violets in a full-bodied, layered package. It is juicy, with plenty of tannin, and will have 10-15 years of longevity." Drink 2016 - 2031

"Toasty aromas plus cooked black fruits. Lovely lifted floral aroma on the palate, bold fruit flavours on the mid palate and a light herby character lingering on the finish. Good stuff! This is boldly flavoured but not too heavy, with nuance and delicacy. (RH)."
