94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot
Xanadu Wines was established in 1977 by Dr John Lagan. In 2005 it was purchased by the Rathbone family, and together with Glenn Goodall’s winemaking team they have significantly improved the quality of the wines. The vineyard has been revamped via soil profiling, precision viticulture, improved drainage and reduced yields. The quality of the wines made since the acquisition of the Stevens Road Vineyard in ’08 has been consistently outstanding.
What The Critics Say
94/100 Halliday's Australian Wine Companion, Steven Creber
"Fruit mainly from Wallcliffe with a proportion from Wilyabrup and 5% from Geographe. 6% petit verdot included. Beautifully balanced medium-weight cabernet. The bouquet is full of blackcurrant, floral perfume and chocolate, and the palate is sweetly-fruited and supple, with fine, melting tannin which provides a lingering freshness on the finish. Happily drink now or cellar." Drink by 2027
92/100 Huon Hooke
"Deep red/purple colour with a cassis, and blueberry fruit-driven bouquet; some pencil shavings oak and dusty, earthy notes and a full-bodied palate, with again very savoury flavours and drying powdery tannins. A touch of heat and astringency at the finish. 20 APR 2018." Drink 2018 - 2033
