A vibrant and character-packed Pinot from a single vineyard in Central. Therapy is the second label of Lamont wine, from a single site in warm Bendigo that brings juicy, vibrant darker fruit fruits along with savoury aspects that make it extremely satisfying and complete as a wine. Great value at this price, Therapy is one to try for lovers of Central Pinot.

Pinot Noir

Its Origins

Raymond Chan: Therapy is a new label launched Craig Gasson to supplement his Lamont wines from his Bendigo vines. He has the ‘Therapy’ wines in what he calls his ‘Friends and Neighbours’ range, designed to "provide everyday drinkability while showing regional and varietal character”. They are deemed to be "perfect ends of day ‘therapy’. Here, I review the Therapy 2016 Sauvignon Blanc and 2015 Central Otago Pinot Noir.

What The Critics Say

93/100 Wine Orbit, Sam Kim

"From a single vineyard in the Bendigo district, it is beautifully ripe and fragrant on the nose showing red/black cherry, game, toasted almond and warm spice characters, leading to a succulent palate that is rounded and smooth. The wine offers delightful fruit intensity while remaining elegant and poised, finishing long and silky. At its best: now to 2019. $30.00. Nov 2017." Drink 2017 - 2019

17.5/20 Raymond Chan

"Even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on edge and youthful in appearance. The nose has vibrant aromas of dark-red and black berried fruits entwined with subtle dark herbal notes along with liquorice, earth and black mineral elements. The aromatics form a good core with depth. Medium-full bodied, the palate has full and up-front sweetly ripe fruit flavours of dark-red and black berries with notes of liquorice and dark herbs. The fruit is plush and accessible, and underlined by fine, supple tannins. The acidity is balanced and integrated. Some spice and nutty oak elements emerge as the wine carries with good drive to a light, nuanced finish. Match with poultry, pork, lamb and beef dishes over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the north end of Loop Road, 30% each clones 115 and 777, 20% clone 5, 15% 667 and 5% Abel, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine spending 24 days on skins and aged 9 months in seasoned oak. 17.5+/20 Nov 2017 RRP $30.00." Drink 2017 - 2022

89-91/100 Parker's Wine Advocate, Joe Czerwinski

"Cola, spice and underbrush character are balanced by red fruit in Therapy's 2015 Single Vineyard Pinot Noir. It's medium-bodied and easy-drinking, with silky tannins, genuine Pinot Noir character and a medium-length, silky finish. I'd opt for enjoying it over the next few years, but it's well-enough balanced that it could evolve several years beyond that." Drink 2018 - 2020+
