Its Origins
Claude Guimberteau's family have run Château La Croix Blanche for five generations. The vineyard is 14 hectares and the age of the wines are 35 years old, with about 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The soil is clay and deep limestone. The pruning method is a single or double Guyot. The grapes are fermented at 28 degrees in thermo-regulated tanks that are made of stainless steel and cement for 30 days. The wine is then aged in a 110 liter French oak for 12 to 13 months.
