After working with Marcarini in La Morra, Elvio Cogno returned to his family village in 1990 to rebuild an historical farm into the home of one of Piedmont's more important Barolo producers. Now daughter Nadia and her husband Valter Fissore are the force behind the rising fortunes of the house, producing strictly classic wines with modern cleanliness and technique, low yields and sustainable, closely managed vineyards.

"Mid crimson. Smoky (a touch reductive?) dark fruit. Relatively closed on the nose. This has restraint but also oozes class and refinement. You could overlook this because of its restraint but it is really delicious. Juicy, scented, elegant. (JH)."
