A beautiful Californian Cabernet, from a hot spot in the Sonoma Valley. The Mayacamas Mountains run between the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, where sheltered at their base are the sources of this classic style of Sonoma Cabernet with luscious red fruits and complex earthy spices. Elegant and concentrated, this is a serious Cabernet to decant now or lay down a while.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Its Origins

Though now owned by the Jackson Family, Arrowood is 100% Sonoma County. Since its founding by Richard and Alis Arrowood in 1986, the winery has produced high-character wines from sustainably and organically farmed vineyards throughout Sonoma County. Arrowood is located in the historic Sonoma Valley, a small sub-appellation of Sonoma County sheltered at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. Often described as a warm pocket in a cool region, this area is particularly well suited to red Bordeaux varieties. Arrowood also sources fruit from a number of well-respected vineyards strategically scattered throughout Sonoma County. These sites are all sustainably or organically farmed and celebrated for their history of producing great wine. The winery is best known for Cabernet Sauvignon. The Sonoma County bottling delivers the high-toned aromatics and firm acidity that typify this cooler, maritime AVA. Winemaker Kristina Werner’s international experience has helped shape her views on farming, winemaking and wine style. In addition to her travels along the wine roads of Western Europe, Kristina has worked at wineries in New Zealand, Portugal, Argentina and Sonoma County. Arrowood has been owned and operated by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke since 2006.

What The Critics Say

90/100 Vinous, Antonio Galloni

"The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Estates is soft, pliant and open-knit, all qualities that make it a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. The purity of the red- fruit and floral/savory aromatics is striking. Red plum, mocha, sage and cedar add layers of nuance. This is such a pretty wine." Drink 2018 - 2023
