Its Origins
Galierie is label in the Jackson Family portfolio of estates. With the Galerie collection, Winemaker Laura Díaz Muñoz aims to create wines that are complex, balanced with bright fruit and compelling textures. Drawing upon her expertise in both Old and New World winemaking, she uses techniques that magnify and complement the distinctive characteristics of each region and grape variety. For her two Galerie red wines, Laura allows the grapes to cold soak and macerate on their skins to aid the extraction of their unique color, flavor and tannins. She crushes the fruit with a basket press and ages the wine for 19 months in 50 – 60 percent new French oak barrels to soften tannins and develop additional depth of flavor.

What The Critics Say
94/100 Parker's wine Advocate, Robert Parker
"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Latro from Knights Valley is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in two-thirds new French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. This has a touch of roasted Provençal herbs in it, with some white chocolate and terrific blackcurrant intensity intermixed with a hint of graphite. Full-bodied, opulent and flamboyant, this is a beauty to drink over the next 15 or so years." Drink 2016 - 2031
90/100 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Latro shows how distinctive this small appellation adjacent to Calistoga is. Graphite, smoke, mint, espresso, lavender and dark chocolate are nicely delineated in the glass. The 2014 balances the fruit intensity of style with the savory and mineral undertones that are so typical of Knights Valley." Drink 2017 - 2024
90/100 Wine Enthusiast
"This is a big bold wine, rough and sinewy in layers of leather, oak, tannin and earthy tobacco. The earthiness presents as a mix of wild mushroom, sage and cedar, with a sanguine meaty edge to the black fruit."
