What The Critics Say
4.5 Stars Michael Cooper
"This single-vineyard Cromwell red is typically classy. The 2012 (4.5*) was matured for 10 months in French oak casks (28 per cent new.) Deeply coloured, it is mouthfilling, with fresh, concentrated plum, cherry and spice flavours, and a finely textured, smooth finish."
18.5/20 Raymond Chan
"Dark, even, purple-hued ruby-red colour. The aromatics on bouquet are bright and fresh, quite primary, marked by red and violet perfumes. Red cherry and berry fruits feature with a subtle cool-spectrum currant and fresh herbal element adding a layer of lift and piquancy. Medium-full bodied, elegantly bound and tight with restraint, the fruit flavours are shy initially. Red berry and cherries, a little fresh herb note and oak with some spicing unfold. The tannins are very fine-grained and provide a softly dry mouthfeel, the acidity sitting in the background. This is well nuanced and has excellent structural balance, with the clear potential to blossom in an elegant, aromatic style over the next 6+ years."
94/100 Bob Campbell
"Elegant Pinot Noir with restrained yet sumptuous sweet plum, chocolate, vanilla and spicy oak flavours. Appealing wine that is deliciously drinkable now but promises to age well. "
