The top Shiraz from legend Peter Lehmann, this is serious Barossa red. It's made from "little black jewels" - superbly tiny, intensely coloured and flavoured Shiraz fruit from their best vineyards. In the stunning vintage of 2012 this beautiful fruit came from the southern Barossa sites of Obbietivo, Simar and Carey. Then these pure flavours were both preserved and softened by 12 months in larger oak hogsheads, followed by further aging in bottle. A wine of serious depth, pedigree and ageworthiness - this will drink now or improve for quite some time.

What The Critics Say

90+/100 Parker's Wine Advocate, Lisa Perrotti-Brown

"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2012 Stonewell Shiraz offers aromas of cassis, mulberries and warm plums with suggestions of dried mint, dark chocolate and violets. Full-bodied, rich and solidly built with firm, grainy tannins and a lively backbone, it delivers plenty of classic Barossa flavors and a good, long finish." Drink 2015 - 2023

Winemaker notes on current vintage

"This limited release Stonewell shows a deep, black centre with dark. plummy fruit and a touch of chocolate and aniseed. The palate is richly structured with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish. The wine shows distinct flavours of dark fruits, dark plums, licorice and dark chocolate with hints of black pepper. Thids wine will cellar beautifully for the next 20 plus years."

96/100 Bob Campbell (2010 vintage)

"Classic old vine Shiraz with great fruit density, impressive flavour complexity and a structure that will ensure that the wine ages gracefully. There has been no compromise in favour of early drinkability although it can certainly be appreciated now. Serious Shiraz."
