Buon Tempo vineyards are located in the south of the Montalcino region at 350m, protected by the hill of Amiata in the south and the Montalcino hill in the north. This creates a drier climate than the surrounding areas and combined with the poor galestro soils creates an ideal micro climate for the fussy Sangiovese grape to obtain real ripeness and structure.
What The Critics Say
88/100 Wine Advocate, Monica Larner
"From a new wine estate, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino opens to a dark crimson color and gamy aromas of cured meat, leather and dark fruit. The cherry and blackberry tones are dried and austere. The wine ages in tonneaux for two years, of which 25% is new oak. This is a dark and savory interpretation of Sangiovese that puts more emphasis on smoked bacon fat and Asian spice than it does on the freshness of fruit. In the mouth, the wine shows slightly textured tannins and a firm grip."
