One of the quality leaders in Rioja, Bodegas Fernando Remirez de Ganuza has produced superb wines in the more difficult 2003 vintage and the idyllic 2004 vintage. Both vintages are composed of 85% old-vine Tempranillo, 10% old-vine Graciano, 3% old-vine Garnacha, and 2% other. The wines are estate grown and bottled from 4 parcels with age ranging from 34 to 97 years. The wine is aged for 2 years in French and American oak prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Fernando Remirez de Ganuza's goal is simple: to make the best wine in Rioja. Not a small task considering the number of extremely high quality producers in this famous region of Spain. But Fernando has risen to the challenge. Since 1989, this seriously exciting producer has slowly aquired some of the best vineyards in the area. Combining the fantastic raw material these vineyards produce with a no-expense-spared approach in the winery ( down to selecting only the grapes from the shoulders of the bunches as they believe these hold greater flavours than the grapes than the other grapes in the bunch ) has resulted in some of Rioja's most incredible wines.
"Dark in colour with rich, concentrated aromas of raw steak, blueberries and a lovely floral component right near the end. Silky, fine tannins, round in the mouth and a lovely bright acidity. Festive flavors linger on my palate of blue and black berries, coffee and anise seed.

"However, the 2005 Reserva has considerably more stuffing and should easily outdistance the 2006. It is a glass-coating opaque purple color with an already complex perfume of floral, mineral, spice, and black fruit elements. Dense and packed, this structured but impeccably balanced offering will evolve for 8-10 years and have a 30+ year lifespan."95/100 Parker
Bodegas Fernando Remirez de Ganuza is one of Rioja’s benchmark estates. It encompasses about 132 acres located in four regions of Alava Rioja planted to approximately 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano

We only have a note on the 2009 vintage: "The 2009 Tempranillo is riper, richer, and more concentrated. It, too, is forward and approachable and will deliver pleasure for another 3-4 years." Parker. Vina Herminia’s new releases contain several excellent values. Located in the Rioja Baja, at the southeastern end of the Rioja, Viña Herminia belongs to the owners of Emilio Lustau. They craft superb Rioja wines from vineyards on the slopes of Monte Yerga and Monte Argudo, up to an altitude of 700m. Together with the warmer climate, this high altitude ensures rich, generous, fruity wines of enormous appeal and great value.

Classic spanish rose - light and delicate with a hint of berries and dried flowers. The perfect wine for these hot summer days ahead. This is made by the classic 'saignee' method where a small amount of juice is bled off the grape skins after a very short maceration, creating a pale and delicate rose.
