Closeburn fruit is grown throughout the Central Otago region and exhibits the regions natural elegant fruit flavours and mineral complexity. The wine is fermented in tank to retain it's bright fruit. It is then left to rest on it's yeast lees to gain some doughy complexity and softness.

Made at Chard Farm this is always a popular pinot. Medium depth cherry red with a crimson-purple glow. Savoury smelling with the sweetness of oak and cherry fruit pushing through. There's a feral complexity to the flavour with that typical Central Otago's herbaceousness, beetroot and raspberry, then more complex cherry and chocolate. Smooth and velvety, almost creamy, with a nice bite to the finish and a sweet fruited smoky aftertaste. Good holiday pinot noir
