2007 Fontodi Chianti Classico

2006 Quinta de Roriz Vintage Port

This spectacular 42 hectare vineyard is all harvested by hand and the grapes are trodden by foot in the traditional lagares (33 men for a total of 148 man hours). Crisp, dry and medium bodied with a good concentration of grapefruit and herb flavors, it gives a long tropical fruit laced finish. Delicious now, it should remain fresh through 2013."

2010 Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir

"One of the greatest of all New Zealand wines .The grapes are drawn from numerous sites, including the estate vineyard, planted in 1980, and the vines, ranging up to 29 years old. The 2009 was voted NZ's Top NZ Pint in the Good Australian Wine Guide and a 92/100 from Parkers Wine Advocate. Just released the 2010 is looking superb "Dark cherry melds with bright, lifted red fruit aromas and hints of spice in this exotic 2010 Pinot Noir. Floral notes are present too; old-fashioned violets and a touch of rose. This vibrant pinot has a sinuous, savoury spine of tannin that spreads out to a long, silky finish. Significant vine age, especially from the 30 year-old blocks, expresses itself in depth, breadth and complexity of character; a distinctive ‘sense of place’ so evident in Ata Rangi Pinot Noir. Vine age also contributes markedly to the consistency of quality year after year."

Sourced from the estate’s oldest vines, the wine is barrel-fermented and aged for 18 months in new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it offers an uplifting nose of pain grille, crushed stone, spice box, espresso, licorice, and assorted black fruits. Opulent and layered, the wine has superb depth, great concentration and a very long finish. Give it 8-10 years in the cellar and drink it through 2040." 98/100 - Robert Parker

2006 Cordero di Montezemolo Vigna Enrico VI Barolo

"Medium red with an amber edge. Very ripe, complex nose melds strawberry, cherry, earth and underbrush; one senses the soil here. Penetrating but harmonious acidity gives this perfumed, ripe wine an enticing light touch. The most tannic of these three 2006s but the tannins are sweet and horizontal. 2009 Domaine Soumade Rasteau Fleur De Confiance

"A top cuvee made only in the finest vintages, the 2009 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Rasteau Fleur de Confiance comes from the oldest vines and/or best lots. While this cuvee is often capable of lasting 15-20 years, the 2009 seems destined for earlier drinking given the vintage character. Sweet, caramelized red and black cherry notes intermixed with spice box, earth and pepper are followed by a high glycerin, high octane style of wine (it must tip the scales at 15+% alcohol) with lots of density, atypically simple tannins and low acidity, which give it a forward, full-bodied, plush, heady mouthfeel. 2006 Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo Monfalletto

Nebbiolo ( Barolo is made from the nebbilo grape ) is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines in the world. Cordero is renowned for its fantastic value barolo - "Medium red with a hint of amber at the rim. The nose and palate hit all the Barolo food groups: strawberry, tobacco, cedar, camphor, mocha, marzipan, nuts and flowers, complicated by a light balsamic quality. Plush in the middle yet delicate for 2006 in spite of its considerable body. A very firmly built wine that finishes with big, sweet, broad tannins and lingering complexity" 90/100 Tanzer.
