“This is unusually elegant in 2010 with its refi ned nose of raspberry and earth though there are background
notes of grilled meat and smoke. The supple, mouth coating and utterly delicious broad-shouldered fl avors
possess a silky texture yet there is plenty of power and punch to the very fi rmly structured fi nish. While there is a

minerals, black pepper, wild herbs and an earthy nuance. Large-scaled, sweet and rich, with a strong

Vougeot with outstanding persistence. The crop-limiting effect of the December frost has produced a

“A highly spiced nose features notes of cool red currant, plum, violets and wet stone along with ample
amounts of pungent Gevrey style earth. There is impressive richness and size to the powerful and wellconcentrated
large-scaled fl avors that are underpinned by buried tannins before culminating in a huge
fi nish that is also monumentally proportioned. This built-to-age beauty will also require a considerable
amount of patience as it should see its 50th birthday without undue effort.”

“A very deeply pitched nose that displays fresh red and dark berry fruit and fl oral aromas along with notes
of the sauvage that continue over to the serious and very solidly structured big-bodied fl avors. This is an
impressively scaled wine yet the supporting tannins are relatively fi ne though quite dense and as such, the
overall impression is one of robust power even if it is refi ned in its delivery. This is going to require a long
cellar stay but it should be magnifi cent when it fi nally emerges.”

“This offers up a completely different aromatic profi le than that of the Mazis with its extremely cool,
restrained and ultra-elegant nose of a broad range of wild red berry fruits, stone, fl oral notes and spice hints.
There is exceptionally good purity and transparency to the intensely mineral-infl ected middle weight fl avors
that evidence ample power on the impeccably well-balanced and linear fi nish. This is a really lovely effort
that embodies that ineffable quality of power without weight.”

“Similar to the nose of the Combe d’Orveau, this is gorgeously complex though the components of it are
notably different as here there is more emphasis on earth and a sauvage character to the exceptionally fresh
and airy yet deeply pitched aromas. The rich, intense and palate saturating fl avors possess excellent volume
yet fi ne detail as well as a driving minerality that is buffered by an abundance of dry extract that imparts a
seductive character to the hugely long fi nish. This is a classic Combe Aux Moines that is perhaps slightly

and silky in the mouth, but with lovely lift to the raspberry and sweet oak fl avors. Ultimately tight and

altogether serious fl avors that possess a fi rm but sophisticated texture, all wrapped in a beautifully balanced

“Good bright, full red. Knockout noble nose combines raspberry, blackberry, blood orange, mocha, white
pepper, coriander and smoky oak. Wonderfully silky but youthfully imploded, with compelling verve and sharp
defi nition to the urgent fruit and fl oral fl avors. A wine of outstanding purity and cut, and very long and precise

“A brooding, deep and introverted nose grudgingly gives up notes of cassis, earth, wood and a hint of
animale. The intense, brawny and imposingly structured fl avors possess superb volume and almost
breathtaking power on the explosive and mouth coating fi nish that is of monumental proportions. This
is a classic Corton yet consistent with the style of the 2010 vintage, this is not unduly rustic, indeed the
tannins, while fi rm, are actually relatively refi ned. A knock out by any standard but at the same time, a

“Deep red with ruby tones. Sappy, perfumed nose offers cherry, white pepper, crushed stone, mint
and menthol. Wonderfully velvety in the mouth, but with superb energy and defi nition to the pungent
mineral and fresh raspberry fl avors. Boasts a three-dimensional texture and great sweetness. Peppery
acidity and uncanny soil complexity stain the palate on the fi nish, which features outstanding fi nesse of
