2007 Remizieres Hermitage Emilie

"Inky purple. Sexy scents of dark berries, cherry-cola, minerals and smoked meat. Suave and velvety, displaying sweet dark berry compote flavors and a strong underpinning of zesty minerals. Impressively pure and graceful, with excellent finishing clarity. This wine was raised in new demi-muids but I don't find any strident oak character. This will be delicious young."91-94 Tanzer

2004 Beaucastel Hommage Chateauneuf du Pape

It is only made in the top vintages, but the very limited cuvee of 500 or so cases of Hommage a Jacques Perrin, which is a wine with 60% Mourvedre and the rest the other permitted varietals, primarily Grenache, Syrah, Counoise, and some Vaccarese, was produced in both 2005 and 2004. The 2004 is potentially one of the legendary Jacques Perrin cuvees since the debut vintage of 1989. The potentially perfect 2004 Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin has turned out to be just an amazing wine and one of the profound examples of this cuvee the Perrins have produced. It certainly has all the power, density, and richness of the great years, but there is almost a surreal elegance and lightness for a wine this powerful and dense. Almost difficult to describe, the gorgeous multi-layered texture, and the heavenly perfume of smoked meats, flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and truffles is a knock-out. In the mouth, it is medium to full-bodied with incredible intensity, purity, and overall symmetry. There's nothing out of place in this remarkable wine, and it seems somewhat approachable already, yet it will no doubt have the uncanny ability to age for 25-40+ years. 96-98/100 Parker

2009 Autard Chateauneuf du Pape Ronde

"The outstanding 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape La Cote Ronde has the oak well-concealed beneath a cascade of black fruits. An equal part blend of Grenache and Syrah from 60-year-old vines (with the Syrah enjoying malolactic fermentation in barrel and aging in new oak), this wine displays plenty of licorice, creme de cassis, blackberry, subtle spice and a heady dosage of Provencal herbs in a full-bodied, thick, juicy style that never loses its place of origin despite the modern oak treatment. Full-bodied and powerful, it comes close to rivaling the best La Cote Ronde I have tasted to date, the 2007. It will be best drunk over the next 10-15 years" 92-94/100 R.Parker

2009 Autard Cotes du Rhone

Jean Paul Autard has run his family estate since the age of 17. The terroir at the Domaine Paul Autard is made up for the most part of sand and rounded shingles. It is situated between Courthezon and Chateauneuf du Pape. Using neither insecticides nor chemical fertillizers, Jean-paul Autard has an attitude resolutely turned towards a respect for balance in nature and biodiversity. The vines vary from 40 to 95 years old and the main grape varieties are Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and Muscardin for the reds.

2009 Fondreche Cotes du Ventoux Persia

With their normal cuvee scoring a 93/100 from Bob Campbell this promises to be a beauty."The leading reference point estate in the Cotes du Ventoux region, Domaine de Fondreche is run with extraordinary passion and impeccable attention to detail by Sebastian Vincenti and Manou Barthelemy. This large estate of just under 100 acres is biodynamically farmed and all the red wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Made from 90% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre aged in 100% new oak, the inky/purple-hued 2009 Cotes du Ventoux Persia reveals notes of smoky barbecue intermixed with graphite, blackberries and cassis, a super texture, a full-bodied mouthfeel and tremendous opulence as well as length. It should drink well for 5-6 years." 93/100 R.Parker

2001 Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne

SOLD AS 6 BOTTLE ORIGINAL WINE CASE. (equivalent to $600/bottle) The 2001 Cote Rotie La Landonne exhibits scents of new saddle leather, black truffles, melted road tar, vanilla, blackberries, and licorice in a primitive/Neanderthal style with huge tannin, intense concentration, and nearly mouth-searing firmness and toughness. Extremely powerful, rich, and backward, it will be drinkable between 2011-2030. 93-95/100 - RP

$3,600.00

2003 Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne

Dense purple to the rim with a nose of graphite, creosote, earth, olives, and black, black, black fruits, the primordial, full-bodied, monumental 2003 Cote Rotie La Landonne is amazing stuff. I suspect this is more akin to a dry vintage port than most Cote Roties ever tend to be, but the purity, the richness, the texture, the length are all out of this world. This wine does need some patience on the part of its purchasers, probably five years, more likely 8-10, but then one of the world's most compelling elixirs will be at its peak for another 20-30+ years. 100/100 - RP

$1,200.00

1999 Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline

The most developed, evolved and forward of the three La-La's in this vintage is the dense purple-colored 1999 Cote Rotie La Mouline. An extraordinary effort, it offers a smorgasbord of aromas and flavors. Scents of violets, raspberries, blackberries, roasted espresso, balsamic vinegar, and pepper tumble out of the glass. It is unctuously-textured, full-bodied, and fabulously concentrated with a tremendous purity and seamlessness that must be tasted to be believed. A wine of singular greatness, it can be drunk young, but should be at its finest between 2005-2020. What is so remarkable about this cuvee is its tremendous layers of flavor, awesome texture, and perfect balance. This is an astonishing offering from one of the world's greatest winemakers. 100/100 - RP

$1,500.00

2001 Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline

SOLD AS 6 BOTTLE ORIGINAL WINE CASE. (equivalent to $600/bottle) More tannic and concentrated than the 2000, the 2001 La Mouline reveals notes of smoky bacon fat intertwined with acacia flowers, blackberries, raspberries, and a hint of espresso. Full-bodied, deep, rich, and extraordinarily perfumed, but with a backward, firm, tannic finish, it should be at its peak between 2010-2023. 94-97/100 - RP

$3,600.00

2003 Guigal Cote Rotie La Mouline

The 2003 Cote Rotie La Mouline is by far the most delicate and elegant wine (11% Viognier is co-fermented with 89% Syrah). but the enormous aromatics of spring flowers intermixed with creme de cassis, black raspberry, mocha, caramel, and cola, and enormous full-bodied opulence and striking velvety, seamless texture make for one of the most memorable wines anyone could every drink. This wine should age effortlessly for 25-30 or more years. 100/100 - RP
