We do not have a note on the 09 Loosen wines yet but it is a great vintage. A beautiful style of riesling with 8.5% alcohol that has an immaculate balance of acid and sweetness. "Germany has had another truly outstanding vintage in 2009, and there are a very large number of wines of this vintage which will rival the very best of the other recent top vintages of this absolutely magical decade of German wines. It is a vintage that will offer a little something for lovers of every style of German wine. The 2009ers are for the most part characterized by absolutely scintillating balance, with nice, high acidities that are amazingly ripe and integrated into the bodies of the wines, giving them a haunting sense of succulent equilibrium. This is a characteristic that is found from the very dry wines, up through the slightly off dry, “Feinherbe” ranges to the wines at the Kabinett, Spätlese and Auslese level.’ - John Gilman, View From The Cellar

We havent brought this top Coonarwarra wine in for a while but with such good reviews and customer pressure we are again able to offer this beauty. "The musician is one of Australia's most outstanding red wines selling for less than A$20."James Halliday
"Glowing red/purple, the 2009 Musician literally blows away uplifting aromas of minty blackcurrants, dark plums, chocolate and vanilla, with all the richness and generosity expected of the maker. Soft and gentle on entry, its medium-bodied palate reveals a fluffy expression of vibrantly fruited regional character, before finishing generously long and dry with lingering nuances of warm, sweet fruit and a tight hold of vivid acids complemented by just enough tannins to balance." 89/100 Australian Wine Journal

Normally $35. We have been following Remarkable Vineyards since their 2006 won "Best Pinot Noir in the World" at the London International Wine Show. Their 2007 also won a Gold Medal at the same show but now the recession is biting and with stock needing to be cleared we got a fantastic deal on their 2008. The Remarkable Vineyard is in Cairnmuir Road, Bannockburn and they used to grow all there grapes under contract to Carrick Wines.
This 4.5 hectare vineyard is on gently sloping, north-west facing land. The soil is a mix of wind-blown loess, schist and sandy soil. It is free draining and ideal for growing top quality wine grapes. Marvellous pinot noir buying.
