Victoria

Chandon N.V. Brut Methode Traditionelle

Normally $28 Domain Chandon was established by Moet and Chandon in 1986 in the Yarra Valley. Fresh and elegant using premium chardonnay and pinot noir grapes. 'Fresh stonefruit characters combine with extended yeast age complexity and a soft dry finish." Excellent value bubbly

$23.99

2006 Domaine Chandon Heathcote Shiraz

Heathcote is a persoanl favourite area for us because of their intense, smooth peppery style. From the stable of LMVH ( who own Cloudy Bay, Cape Mentelle, Veuve Cliquot etc ) wineries this is a stunner out of Heathcote. "This young shiraz ( with a smidge of Viognier ) from one of Victoria's most exciting red wine regions opens with vibrant black cherry and blueberry aromas, trimmed in spice and subtle, toasty oak. It has an appealing Marmitey richness, good intensity, smooth texture and ripe friendly tannins. Easy to like with beef fillet."

$26.99

2008 Seppelt St Peters Grampians Shiraz

Trophy for the "Best Shiraz' in the 'World's Greatest Shiraz Challenge" in Winestate Magazine. Listed at $70 Australian this is a superb buy. We have limited stock so ORDER NOW. The competition is huge, with entries from all over the world with such wines as the 2006 Grange coming in 5th and Chapoutier L'Ermite Hermitage also at $600 not in the Top 10 so this is no two bit show. Rated 95/100 from Halliday who writes "Purple-crimson; a complex bouquet with fragrant blackberry, plum and licorice aromas and flavours; the medium-bodied palate has very good texture and structure. Drink to 2028". Jump in on this deal in you like top Aussie Shiraz.

$46.99

2009 Waterwheel Bendigo Shiraz

Always over delivering, Waterwheel is owned by a very wealthy tomato grower who believes in selling his wine for a very fair price. We have brought this in for many years and it ages extemely well. "Deep garnet-purple in color, 2009 Shiraz was matured for 12 months in new, one and two year old American hogsheads. It gives a deep garnet purple color and intense notes of crushed ripe blackberries, blueberry preserves, baking spices and peppermint oil. Medium-full bodied, it has a generous amount of straightforward dark berry and mint flavors with medium-high acid and a medium level of rounded tannins. The finish is long. Drinking now, it should remain good through 2014." Parker

$24.99

2002 Wild Duck Creek Duck Muck

The renowned 2002 Shiraz Duck Muck, a late harvest cuvee with 16.5% alcohol, does not possess the Amarone-like, raisiny, pruny character one might expect from a Shiraz of this power. It boasts a dense purple color, a sumptuous perfume of black fruits, white flowers, and toasty oak, tremendous balance, full body, immense concentration, and abundant glycerin. Give it 3-4 more years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 10-15. Sadly, there are only 200 cases. 95/100 Parker

$250.00

2008 Waterwheel Bendigo Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot is a variety of red wine grape, principally used in classic Bordeaux blends. It ripens much later than the other varieties in Bordeaux, often too late, so it fell out of favour in its home region. It has attracted attention among winemakers in the New World, where it ripens more reliably and has been made into single varietal wine. "First release from Water Wheel and its a stunner. Intensity and full on enjoyment. Brilliantly vibrant purple-you could fall in love with the mere look of it. Talk about velvet. Boysenberry, blackberry, blackcurrant fruit and loads and loads of violets. Delicious to the max and very concentrated.Really quite something." 92/100 Campbell Mattinson The big red wine book

$24.99

2010 Chateau Tahbilk Marsanne

One of Metro Magazine's 100 Wines for Summer "Marsanne is a Rhone Valley variety that has been planted in Australia, in particular in Victoria's Goulburn Valley, for many years. This is a light, early drinking, fresh example, but still shows the sappy intensity and earthy texture that is typical for the variety. A great match with Mediterranean dishes and spicy foods".

$21.99

2008 Waterwheel Memsie Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec

Normally $22 on our shelf. Double Trophy Winner- ( Best Blended Red at the Victorian Wine Show and also Champion Red Blend at the Winewise Championship ) Big results for a wine of this price and one that we have brought in for many years- always great bang for your buck. "Full flavouredwine, with blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Great value and will cellar well" 90/100 J.Halliday "one of Australias best value reds, terrific weight and poise on the palate, flavours follow the aromas, and tannins skate smoothly through the finish" 91/100 Sydney Morning Herald

$17.99

2002 Giaconda Les Deux Chardonnay Rousanna

$75.99

2004 Giaconda Warner Shiraz

"The 2004 ( 98% Shiraz and 2% Roussanne aged 20 months in 60% new French wood ) exhibits classic aromas of pepper, blackberries, licorice and flowers. Deep, chewy, moderately tannic, young and primary, it is an impressive Shiraz to enjoy over the next decade." R.Parker
