"These two brothers have come of age over the last decade. In the past, much of the crop was sold to negociants, but now all of it is estate bottled. The Bonnefonds farm just under 14 acres in Cote Rotie and 2.5 in Condrieu. Production is approximately 12,000-15,000 bottles of the Cote Rozier, 3,000-4,000 bottles of Les Rochains, and 2,000 cases of the regular cuvee. Everything is destemmed, and the wines are made with both pump-overs and punch-downs. The single vineyard wines see as much as 85-90% new French oak, and the classic Cote Roties see 25-30% new wood. There is no filtration."The charming 2006 Cote Rotie exhibits a dense ruby/plum color, a sweet nose of bacon fat, smoke, raspberries, and oak, and medium to full-bodied, fleshy flavors. With charm and finesse as well as serious flavor intensity, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-12 years." 91-93 R.Parker

"Opaque ruby. Deeper and more brooding on the nose than the classique, showing dark cherry, cassis and licorice qualities, along with graphite and smoky minerals. Firm dark berry flavors loosen up a bit with air, picking up a gentle sweetness and a distinct mineral tang. The tannins return on the long, chewy finish. Painfully young today but clearly with outstanding depth and potential"91-94 Tanzer
"A brilliant effort, especially considering the vintage, is the dense ruby/purple-colored 2007 Cote Rotie Cote Rozier (100% Syrah). Pen ink, graphite, black raspberry, blackberry, flower, and frying lard notes are present in this wine. Superb richness, full-bodied power, good depth and length suggest it will drink nicely for 12-15 years."92-94 Parker

"Youthful purple color. Sexy Asian spice and red berry aromas are complicated by smoked meat and incense. Darker berries are on display in the mouth, along with hints of black olive and sweet chewing tobacco. Finishes with good grip and a jolt of refreshingly bitter cherry pit.
