2010 Faiveley Echezeaux

en primeur price(all up final landed cost)arrives june/july “Noticeable if deft wood notes frame the very spicy dark berry fruit and warm earth suffused nose. There is beautiful concentration to the velvet-textured and mouth coating medium-bodied fl avors that are shaped by relatively fi ne but notably fi rm tannins, all wrapped in a moderately austere and strikingly long fi nish. This will also need plenty of cellar time to reach its full apogee.” 92-94/100 - Burghound “(25% vendange entier): Good full red. Pungent aromas of raspberry, crushed stone and white pepper. Enters with intense raspberry and spices, then turns fi rm and fl oral in the middle, showing superb energy and sappiness to the primary red fruit and mineral fl avors. With its saline impression of extract and strong tannic spine, this should evolve in bottle for couple of decades.” 92/100 - Stephen Tanzer

$215.00

2009 Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru

"Compelling aromas of extremely fresh and airy menthol-infused red berry fruit, soil and distinctly spiced tones plus an underlying hint of animale transfers over to the rich, full and serious broad-shouldered flavors brimming with dry extract and supported by impressively refined and ripe tannins that are almost completely buffered on the powerful and balanced finish by the buckets of mid-palate sap. Terrific." 93-96 Burghound

$345.00

2008 Bouchard Pere et Fils Meursault Genevrieres

"Pale, bright yellow. Deep peach, nutmeg, jasmine and orange blossom on the sexy nose. Rich, supple and sweet, with expansive flavors of stone fruits and spicy oak. Not the last word in complexity, but this big, sexy Meursault is impressively thick and long"92 Tanzer "As it almost always is, here the nose is spicier still and more refined as well with striking complexity adding compelling interest to the floral, citrus and white fruit aromas. The rich, concentrated and classy flavors possess plenty of extract that confers a seductive texture that carries over to the impressively long and harmonious finish."92 Burghound

$100.00

2009 Barraud Pouilly Fuisse La Roche

With the great chardonnays from Puligny Montrachet and Mersault fetching lofty prices these days it pays to look slightly furthur south to the superb chardonnay villages of Pouilly and Macon. If you like your chards on the reserved, complex, minerally side then these are for you. Daniel Barraud is the master in this region and his wines are simply drop dead gorgeous. They cost no more than a decent local chardonnay and are well worth trying. "powerful, dense and palate staining flavors are impressively broad-scaled and deliver excellent persistence"90-92 Burghound

$59.99

2009 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'Les Cazetiers'

"A wonderfully complex and quite densely fruited nose features layered aromas of red, blue and black fruits that include ample amounts of stone, game and earth nuances, all of which can also be found on the supple but precise and very serious flavors blessed with an abundance of dry extract on the strikingly long finish. This is terrific and the complexity is outstanding but patience will be required." 92-94 Burghound

$105.00

2008 Barraud Pouilly Fuisse "les Crays"

From 60+ year old vines located in Vergisson). "Purity of expression seems to be a consistent theme with the Barraud '08s and this is no different with its elegant, ripe and broad ranging aromas that include a touch of wood, spice notes, wet stone and both white and yellow fruit (though nothing exotic) that marry into rich, concentrated and full-bodied flavors that really stain and coat the palate on the wonderfully persistent finish."91-93 Burghound

$59.99

2003 Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin

Extremely ripe and earthy with lovely animale notes that give way to supple and very rich, sappy and palate staining flavors. This is a serious, somber and intense wine that delivers an explosive, almost painfully powerful finish. This is genuinely an incredible wine that has plenty of buffering fat yet the structure to last for 2 decades. A great effort. 92-95/100 - Burghound

$1,000.00

2008 William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos

"Pale yellow-green. Great precision on the nose: crushed oyster shell, steely minerality, lemon, lime and nutmeg. Even denser than the Cote Bouguerots but not as large, with captivating, soil-driven toast and nut oil notes adding another element of complexity to the vibrant citrus and mineral flavors. An utterly edge-free, spherical wine of great energy and clarity that also conveys a captivating sweetness. Leaves the mouth vibrating, with the empty glass exuding a lingering perfume of minerals and powdered chalk."94 Tanzer " Here too the elegance of the nose is simply stunning with a layered and perfumed aromatic profile that oozes Chablis character and in particular, a fine minerality that continues onto the impressively concentrated and palate staining flavors that possess striking precision on the explosively long finish. This is a great Les Clos that will make old bones"94-97 Burghound

$140.00

2005 Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin

A discreet touch of wood sets off an expansive nose of ripe and spicy dark berry fruit, animale hints and intense earth and underbrush notes that can also be found on the concentrated, intense and well-muscled flavors that are also blessed with unbelievable dry extract that lends a chewy but not rustic character to the vibrant, harmonious and strikingly long finish. This is very tightly structured with dense but fine tannins that are completely buffered by all of the dry extract yet it's abundantly clear that this will be a long distance runner. A wine that has that rare "wow" factor. 96/100 - Burghound

$1,500.00

2008 Barraud St Veran En Creches

Beautiful chardonnay from a superb Burgundy producer. The St Veran appellation is the most southerly appellation of Burgundy where the climate is slightly warmer than most of Burgundy, due to its southerly location hence a more full bodied style of chardonnay is produced. "This displays some residual fermentation aromas trimmed in a gentle touch of wood that complements the nicely rich and full flavors that culminate in a racy and stony finish that is wrapped around a moderately firm acid spine that confers focus and balance onto the notably dry finale" Burghound.
