Normally $24. Its very hard to find quality Martinborough chardonnay at this price so when we were offered a superb deal on this highly rated chardie we climbed in. 18/20 from Raymond Chan ( senior wine judge ) who writes "Mendoza and clone 15 fruit from the Te Muna Terraces site hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and fully barrel-fermented to 14.5% alc. and aged 10 months in 20% new French oak, with lees stirring and partial malolactic fermentation.. Bright straw-yellow colour with a pale edge, this has a full, soft, rounded nose rich, ripe yellow stonefruits and tropical fruits with plenty of buttery, nutty barrel-ferment aromas. A full-bodied wine, this has rich, ripe citrus and tropical fruit flavours with integrated and harmonised mealy, nutty barrel fermentation flavours on a soft, moderately low acid, creamy textured palate. The wine has a long, nuanced finish showing nutty, mealy fruit-oak amalgam. A wine to match with seafood, poultry and pasta dishes over the next 4-5 years."
