2009 Heartland Langhorne Creek Shiraz

Finally back in stock. "Made by the highly regarded Ben Glaetzer and matured in French oak hogsheads ( larger oak barrels than usua l). It's been a highly successful brand since its launch a handful of years ago ‐ and deservedly so. "Campbell Mattinson, The Big Red Wine Book.
From Langhorne Creek ( which is one of Australia's oldest wine regions ) where the 2009 was a low yielding high quality vintage. "The nose has masses of black fruits, red currants and spice which support hints of expresso and dried spice notes. On the palate, the wine is soft yet maintains expressions of cassis, anise and earthiness. Savoury, rich and yet balanced and restrained." A pure expression of Australia's iconic variety.
