Year in and year out this is our biggest selling French wine and its consistency is amazing. With 2009 being touted as a superb vintage this will be a cracker "One of the most intelligent young Chateauneuf du Pape turks is Laurent Charvin. As I have written before, consumers are lucky that the entire production here is now estate bottled as opposed to being sold to negociants as it was prior to 1990. The 2009 Cotes du Rhone is serious, complex and earthy. It is a blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% Carignan that offers abundant aromas of loamy, earthy, sandy soil notes intermixed with black cherry, spice box and pepper. It is a classic southern Rhone to drink over the next 2-3 years.
