2009 Glaetzer Barrossa Valley Wallace Shiraz/ Grenache

The Wallace is a blend of 75% Shiraz and 20% bush vine Grenache from 60-80 year old vines located in the prime Ebenezer district of Barossa. Yields were a meager 1.5 tons per acre and with their experience of old, Barossa Valley Grenache they know it does not handle oak well. For this reason they ferment and mature the Grenache component in stainless steel to keep the freshness and animation of the fruit. The Shiraz is matured in 2-3 year old oak barrels.
"Deep garnet-purple color and intense blackberry and black raspberry aromas with supporting notes of chocolate,
earth, salami and anise. The palate is well structured with firm fine tannins, high acid and ample flesh, finishing medium-long. Drink it now to 2015." R.Parker. This is one of our most popular Australian reds due to its lush silkiness. Enjoy.
