This is Craggy Range's more restrained 'chablis styled 'chardonnay. The vineyard is at Te Awanga, in the Hawkes Bay, right on the coastline. The shallow warm clay loam soils and careful selection of clones in this environment allows the development of very pure cool Chardonnay flavours in the grapes. "The fresh sea breezes at Te Awanga have helped create a Chardonnay that treads lightly over the palate, seamlessly balanced and deceptively complex. Chardonnay-loving gannets will be all over it."
